Jonathan Paul Ive, the man behind the minimal design of Apple’s addictive computers and devices which many owners consider a fashion accessory or work of art rather than a mere device, has recently been knighted by the Queen of England.  According to artdaily.org, the King of the Click Wheel joined Steve Jobs in 1992 “while Jobs was still in the midst of a 12-year exile from Apple.”  When Jobs returned to Apple in the mid 90s to eventually lead the company to dominate the world, he brought Ive along with him.  Ive a British citizen, was awarded a KBE, or Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire which is awarded by the Queen twice a year on her official bithday in June and on New Year’s.  Artdaily.org write that “Six of Ive’s works, including the original iPod, are part of the collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.”
