Saffronart which conducted its first online sale of Impressionist and Modern art on February 15th and 16th realized somewhat mediocre results as the auction sold only 44% or 32 of the 73 lots up for sale.  The star lot, a small oil painting by Vincent Van Gogh realized $697,000 after the buyers premium which was below the low estimate as the painting was valued at $800,000 to $1,000,000.  The tally for the entire sale was $1,200,400 or less than half the $2.7 million realized in a December sale of Indian art that included 80 lots.
