Buck’s Free Press is reporting that early Sunday morning a painting by British artist Stanleey Spencer titled Cookham from Englefield, was taken from the Stanley Spencer Gallery in Cookham High Street. The painting was on loan from a private collector and police say that the thieves entered through a smashed window. Det Con Iain Watkinson the officer working on the case has stated that,
“I would also urge people working in the art industry to be vigilant and be aware this painting has been stolen.”
